Assists Director of Materials Management and performs a variety of purchasing functions, including selecting products, placing orders, negotiating/interacting with vendors, securing bids and quotes, and maintaining adequate on hand inventory.
Associates degree in Business Administration required; bachelor's preferred would consider a high school diploma/GED with at least five years of experience in a purchasing department, healthcare strongly preferred. Minimum of three years experience in a purchasing department with progressive responsibility required. Experience with hospital purchasing and medical/surgical supplies and equipment desired. Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills required. Computer skills required. Meditech knowledge a plus.
