The PFS Call Center Representative will be responsible for receiving incoming telephone contacts from Dignity Health patients, physicians, payers and other customers. The position communicates with callers and provides information in a manner that instills confidence in Dignity Health ability to provide billing and collecting services for patients. This position requires working under pressure as part of a supportive team that communicates and works with internal and external customers to resolve billing and collection questions and issues. As a primary contact point for customers, it is essential that the position exemplify the Dignity Health Values and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Will perform complex account analysis in order to provide callers with accurate account information by accessing the SMS Patient Accounting and Management System, Contract Management, SSi, Imaging and other PFS applications.
        REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED required. Some college coursework in business administration or accounting preferred. One to three years experience performing payer, self-pay collections, billing and/or follow-up functions within a tertiary care hospital facility. Excellent working knowledge in self-pay collections including bad debt processing, collection agency referrals, charity assessment, financial counseling, credit reporting and interpretation, and bank loan programs, required. Strong working knowledge of collection laws and third party payer claims processing and ensures compliance with state laws regarding all cash processes as evident through cash collections. One to two years of experience providing direct customer service or service delivery is required. Experience in a hospital call center environment is preferred. Requires demonstrated success in providing customer service and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding call center environment. Demonstrated success working in a team environment focused on meeting organization goals and objectives required. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
