TEMPORARY PART-TIME POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS
Camp Fort Worth is a great place to make a positive impact through character development, literacy programs, arts and crafts, team building, recreation activities and a healthy lifestyle. The Camp Fort Worth Coordinator will oversee Camp Fort Worth at 19 community centers. Duties include but not limited:
Coordinate the Camp Fort Worth Program activities within the Parks and Community Services Department
Coordinate, supervise and manage Camp Fort Worth staffing and operational activities
Participate in the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, parents, staff and Standards of Care manuals
Identify resource needs, review with appropriate management staff to implement improvements
Assist in developing curriculum and lesson plans
Coordinate various outside speakers from collaborating organizations
Coordinate field trip transportation and expenses
Review and evaluate programs, methods and procedures
Participate in the training and orientation of staff
Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly financial, attendance reports for review by management
Forecast needed funding for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies
Coordinate activities with those of other divisions and outside agencies and organizations to develop community programs and address community needs
Coordinate special events
Developing marketing materials
Respond to public inquiries efficiently and effectively
Coordinate with various service agencies to secure funding for camp programs, including grants and private donations
Submit budget recommendations and monitor expenditures at each center
Assist with Hiring Fairs
Oversee Camp Fort Worth planning meetings
Coordinate and distribute camp t-shirt orders
Skills / Requirements
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
Relevant, completed college hours are preferred but not mandatory. A copy of transcript is required at the time of application plus two (2) years experience in a camp, recreation, education or related field, including a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience is required. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) computer skills are required. Budget experience is required. Bilingual skills, Spanish/English, are preferred. Heavy public and telephone contact involvement.
Camp Fort Worth Coordinator will also be responsible for dissemination, collection and tracking staff performance appraisals, parent and student surveys.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid class C drivers license and an acceptable driving record is required. Possession of or ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certificates are required
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.
Inside and outside recreational environment; working closely with others; exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals related to custodial and maintenance responsibilities.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time; lifting or carrying light to moderate objects; pushing and pulling; operating custodial and maintenance equipment; adequate speech, hearing, and eyesight required.
