EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in carpentry and three years journey-level experience in carpentry installation, alteration and repair work.

CERTIFICATES: Valid California Driver's License WORKING CONDITIONS:

ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor and outdoor work environment.
Noise from equipment operation.
Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
Regular exposure to fumes, dust and odors.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of heavy objects.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand and power tools and equipment used in the carpentry trade.
Kneeling or crouching.
Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.
Heavy physical labor.

HAZARDS:
Power saws and flying debris or nails.
Working around and with machinery having moving parts.

SPECIAL INFORMATION: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug test, TB test, fingerprinting and may include a physical exam. The physical and drug screen are paid for by the District. The candidate's portion of the fingerprinting fees is $23.00.

  • Open to employees of the District and the public with the selection process resulting in one (1) Eligibility List for current and any future vacancies that occur within one (1) year. Current employees will receive seniority credit.
