Performs routine x-rays, knowledge of equipment. Able to process and ultilize radiation protection.
Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment. Develops/processes film. Adheres to established radiology “standards of care”. Applies principles of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. Pursues appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to hospital wide customer service program. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, Licensure and Experience Requirements
Graduate of a committee of allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) accredited radiography program or equivalent. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or equivalent.
Current New York State License in Radiologic Technology Current registry in the A.R.R.T. Experience preferred. Specialized skill: License and registered in Mammography/Special Procedures/ CAT scan/MRI and US if applicable.
Continuing education requirements to meet the standards.
