Role Summary

– Integrated communications leadership role focused on developing and executing key communications strategies for HP’s Chief Information Officer. HP’s CIO is responsible for driving HP’s comprehensive internal IT programs and systems and is also an external thought leader on trends and best practices for enterprise IT. HP’s IT organization is a showcase for HP technologies and in this regard, this role requires strong external communications expertise and skills.

In this capacity a communications professional will design strategies that will effectively inform and influence a number of key global audiences including 300,000 employees, customers around the world and global media and investors

The communications leader in this role will:
·

Deliver great content

o

Develop and execute comprehensive executive communications strategies and programs (internal and external) for HP’s CIO

o

Be responsible for all content supporting key communications objectives (writing, presentations, scripts etc)

o

Effectively support HP product sales through HP IT use cases

o

Collaborate with internal teams on sales support materials and programs where HP IT is engaging with customer prospects

o

Lead the development and execution of executive speeches, including speechwriting, slide design and speaker prep, customer presentations and internal communiqués for executive

o

Collaborate closely with the HP IT leadership team and deliver strategic counsel

o

Closely coordinate with HP's Technology & Operations organization on communications materials to support strategic messages and external media/customer engagements

Generate results supporting priorities and key messages

o

Identify, execute and manage supporting media outreach and influencer program to support communication priorities

o

Proactively solicit the “voice of” various internal audiences (i.e., field, senior leaders, Human Resources (HR), first level managers, all employees), sharing that information with business leaders to drive better, more impactful content and communications

Manage resources

o

Select, manage and develop agencies or contractors

o

Manage functional or department budget

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:
  • Business Analyst (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of experience in employee communications, journalism or marketing
Critical skills and attributes needed include:
·

Will to win and tireless commitment to quality and creativity

·

Rapid-fire translation of complex technology stories into engaging messages and presentations (PPT master a must)

·

Ability to shift direction on the fly and prioritize tasks and projects effectively

·

Confidence to provide effective communications counsel and advice to HP senior leaders

·

Ability to identify technology best practices and storylines and bring to reality in media pitches
