The Chief Information Officer will lead all areas of Information Technology including (Infrastructure, Application Development, ERP, Network, Desktop Support etc.) for Blue Buffalo Co., Ltd. In addition, the CIO will partner with cross functional leaders to determine and align business processes/IT program strategies, objectives and priorities by establishing short and long term strategic planning including Information Management services and solutions for the company to maximize effectiveness of IS applications and solutions. The CIO will be responsible to assure that technology aligns with current business needs as well as projected growth. Specific objectives and program plans/roadmaps (e.g., ERP selection, development and implementation) will be determined collaboratively with leadership.
Design, develop and implement comprehensive, computer based information systems to ensure users’ needs are met and, data is processed according to company specifications and requirements. Users include both internal and external customers.
Assure Disaster Recovery processes and protocols are in place, tested and effective.
Define user information requirements by conferring with users and analyzing functions. Recommend and develop computer-based business solutions. Plan system applications and assign staff to develop, test and complete programs. Evaluate effectiveness of programs and offer solutions to enhance effectiveness.
Collaborate with department managers and leaders to identify, evaluate, select and implement the technology solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
Prepare and maintain technical specifications and related documentation to secure procedures and prevent system failure. Responsible for company's disaster recovery plan.
Research and provide recommendations on hardware and software purchases. Negotiate with vendors on behalf of the company to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Improve existing software programs and develops new applications to meet future business needs.
Ensure hardware and software is maintained and data is secured through proper back-ups and staff training.
Manage budgets and control expenses effectively.
Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and appraising staff effectively. Engage corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult and collaborate with Human Resources as appropriate.
Continuously maintain up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience 10 or more years’ experience managing an information systems department in a medium or large size firm.
MBA is a plus.
Solid technical knowledge of SAP, networks, digital and satellite technology and PC based applications.
Demonstrated IS/IT leadership and solutions services; leading teams and able to establish processes and efficiencies.
Experience in CPG or Manufacturing corporate environment.
Prior experience managing technical staff in multiple locations preferred. International experiences a plus.
