The City of Fort Worth's Human Resources Department is seeking an experienced Sr. Human Resources Analyst in its Classification, Compensation, and Civil Service Division.
The selected candidate will undertake complex and sensitive human resources analyses and program development involving compensation and classification issues; respond to and resolve department concerns, and compile and analyze statistical data on compensation and classification.
The Classification and Compensation Sr. HR Analyst will prepare a variety of reports; act as project leader on large human resources studies; lead, plan and review the work of assigned project staff; assist analyst(s) with reclass requests; interpret human resources policies and procedures; respond to requests for information and assistance from employees, management, outside agencies and the public.
The selected candidate will have a strong Classification acumen with technical analysis to include develop and update job descriptions; recommend compensation adjustments; coordinate with appropriate department regarding salary and other budgetary concerns; conduct salary surveys; determine scope of survey; collect and analyze data; and make written recommendations on results.
Additionally, the Classification and Compensation Analyst will be expected to partner with departments and foster working relationships across all levels of the organization. Clear and concise communication regarding Classification and Compensation processes will be expected. The selected candidate will create job analysis questionnaires, review work samples and organizational charts to justify classification reports. Knowledge of equity comparisons and compensation survey experience helpful.
Skills / Requirements
The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field PLUS three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional human resources experience in compensation and classification required.
Master's Degree preferred. Preference may be given to higher levels of education and experience as it relates to the job vacancy. Experience with PeopleSoft (Rel 8.9) preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Extensive contact with internal customers required. Point factor job evaluation and classification systems experience needed. Supervisory experience helpful as the Sr. HR Analyst will act as project leader on large human resources studies, and lead, plan and review the work of assigned staff. CCP or PHR certification preferred.
The successful candidate will be proficient with the following:
