Facilitate patron access to library materials, provide excellent customer service and provide a complete and thorough definition of Library policies. This includes lending Library materials according to the policies and procedure of the Library. Perform Circulation functions of check out, check in, renewal of library materials and collect fines. Utilize the booking module of the computerized Library system to schedule materials for classroom use and group study facilities within the Library.
DUTIES OF POSITION:
*(DENOTES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
*1. Provide access to Library materials and equipment, serve as initial contact point for Library patrons, answer informational questions.
*2. Assist patrons in locating materials such as class reserve items, Circ Desk videos, or telecourse materials. Interpret Library records to patrons.
*3. Solve patron problems and issues based on thorough understanding of Library policies. Regularly use expertise in these policies to make decisions on a case-by-case basis.
*4. Input and maintain patron records using the integrated Library system and assign appropriate access based on patron information.
5. Schedule over 50 types of audiovisual equipment and/or educational materials using the booking module of the Library's integrated system.
6. Coordinate and distribute audiovisual equipment and library materials from the West Campus distribution center.
7. Analyze email rejects on the INNOPAC system from exported email and FTS email.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Busy public service area; must have excellent people skills; must be flexible and willing to adjust to last minute situations. Comes into contact with toner for copiers. Must be able to stand for extended period of time. Must be able to reach shelf height of 6 feet. Must be able to work at counter height. Mobility to bend and stoop. Must be able to spend extended periods of time at a computer keyboard and monitor. Vision adequate to read a variety of print materials and computer screens. Mobile to load paper and toner into copiers and deliver audiovisual equipment when necessary.
