The CME Credit Systems and Compliance Manager provides oversight and direction to ensure compliance to ACCME Essential Areas and Elements, ACCME Standards for Commercial Support and AAFP accreditation procedures. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of processes and procedures that support AAFP accreditation guidelines for the approval of AAFP accredited CME activities. In addition, this position provides key support in maintaining the status of the AAFP as a CME provider accredited with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The incumbent will oversee training and resources offered to staff as well as various CME providers, including but not limited to the AAFP and constituent chapters. In addition, this position manages special projects and reports including but not limited to ACCME accreditation review reports, maintenance of AAFP institutional accreditation, reporting, AAFP CME accreditation departmental reports and budget preparation reports. The CME Credit Systems and Compliance Department manager is a Process/Subject Matter Expert accountable for working with faculty, members, professional staff, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and vendors to ensure departmental CME/CPD educational outcomes and financial goals are met. The CME Department Manager is a member of the CMED Leadership team. Possible 18 days travel annually.

Required Skills

Required Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, medical Management or health Administration; a Master’s degree is preferred, and at least four years related experience. Ability to review and approve materials to comply with standardized processes and procedures necessary. Ability to understand ACCME criteria and Standards for Commercial Support plus other applicable laws and regulations required. Experience with developing language for web page updates and training in customer service are preferred. Strong public speaking skills, as well as strong verbal and written skills are needed to professionally interact with physicians and customers via phone and email.
