Develop programs using Metrologic software to collect data on metal and plastic parts, components and checking fixtures
Run programs to layout parts, checking fixtures and other parts on CMM
Develop reports, using layout data, to meet the customer requirements
Troubleshoot existing programs and reports
In the absence of the CMM lead, provide leadership and direction for CMM operators
Provide training to help Shape associates as well as customer understanding of layout results
Assist in problem solving and continuous improvement activities
Assist as needed in the calibration and certification of all process inspection and test equipment
Perform Blue & Scribe support
Determine continuous improvement for all aspects of the aluminum value stream
Learn and operate Faro Arm
Ensure timely completion of layouts and reports
Support the development of checking fixtures and attend gage design meetings to ensure Shape standards are known and included in the fixture design
Store data, reports and documents according to defined structure and naming convention
Use defined methodology to develop work request priority and schedules
Metrologic software experience a must
Experience in sheet metal automotive part programming
Fundamental understanding of statistics and other AIAG Core Tools (PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP)
Proficient in GD&T and practical application of GD&T
Competent in reading CAD data
Proficient in the use of various measuring devices including caliper, digital indicator, micrometer, and height gage
Detailed, precise and accurate
Ability to work in a team environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
High School Diploma
Minimum of three plus years of experience in programming quality CMM
