We are looking for an experienced CNC Mill Operator. The ideal candidate will have a high level of energy and sense of urgency to accomplish the Company goals and implement significant change within the organization.
Ensure we meet customer needs and maintain a high level of service.
Prioritize production sequence based on customer demand and lead time.
Meet with Supervisors and Manufacturing Manager to discuss progress and compile reports on production volume, quality control and material inventory.
Gather information and complete customer orders.
Assist operations to meet shipping deadlines according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
Interface with Receiving, Saws, Lathe’s, Deburr, Secondary Operations, Warehouse and other staff.
Investigate any discrepancies and notify Management.
Operate power industrial equipment to transport inventory, unload incoming stock and load orders.
Follow standard operating procedures.
Perform other related duties as required.
Maintain acceptable reject and scrap rates, as well as production rates.
Ability to identify and correct problems with assistance.
Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments and work piece on machine.
Install cutting tools in machine.
Start machine and monitor displays and machine operations to detect malfunctions.
Stop machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to print specifications, using precision measuring instruments, with little supervision.
Maintain proper maintenance of machine, equipment and facilities and keep in proper condition.
Keep the machine area clean and orderly at all times.
Working knowledge of quality programs, instituted, ability to perform required operator's visual and dimensional first piece inspection.
Correct any possible problems with machine set-up.
Required to hold tolerances as required by prints.
Responsible for recording all labor hours with time system accurately.
Handle machine finished items in a careful manner to prevent damage, maintain a neat and orderly work area, and function in a safe and reliable manner to prevent personal injury and/or property damage.
Responsible for cleaning machine and area prior to leaving each day.
Ability to communicate verbally with others.
Ability to write clear communications and instructions for others.
Ability to utilize basic office equipment.
Ability to occasionally climb ladders.
Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to work without close supervision.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
Ability to lift 20-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to use a tape measure.
Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
High school diploma or equivalent and manufacturing work experience.
Prior experience with following production schedules (or scheduling rules) for operations.
Excellent organizational, time management and problem resolution skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and follow up with supervisors on completion of tasks.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and/or environment.
Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred previous experience working in a high performance team setting.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, team player.
Ability to Work Power Equipment. (Crane, Forklift, etc)
Basic math skills.
Lot / serial control experience.
Experience with LEAN practices / methodologies.
This is a manufacturing plant environment.
Exposure to high temperatures, moving machinery, moving equipment, heights and confined spaces.
This opening is currently a 1st shift position. Potentially a second shift may be available at a later date. Second shift hours are 2:30 pm – 1:00 am Monday – Thursday. Overtime hours may include Friday 2:30 – 1:00 am
Hourly rate pay ranges from $12.00 - $18.00. Full benefits package. Profit sharing paid quarterly. Additional details to be provided to qualified candidates.
