Provide the necessary technical knowledge to develop, program, and fabricate new tooling for the Research and Development to improve speed to market in new product launches while supporting the manufacturing facilities associated to the Americas Region to drive down tooling costs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, program and fabricate the tooling required to support the Americas Region.
Work with Americas Regional Staff to properly schedule work to ensure that the needs of the facilities are met within a timely manner.
Provide recommendations for improving current designs to reduce down time and material waste.
Provide frequent updates to the Americas Region Staff on progress and/or concerns associated to requests.
Purchase necessary materials and manage minimal inventory while meeting strategic goals.
Provide assistance in the fabrication of non-tooling related components as needed.
Work with vendors to maintain adequate PM program on equipment to ensure longevity and safe operation of equipment.
Seek training opportunities to further enhancement of skill sets.
Track progress of requested work and provide clear communications of needs and or concerns that may jeopardize meeting requested fabrication dates.
Maintain proper documentation of work requested and completed that meets all Quality guide lines.
Internal - Greensboro Leadership Team, Research and Development, Functional Area Staff Members, Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians, Data Clerks, and Warehouse Personnel
External: Engineering and Maintenance within Dominican Republic and Mexico, Contractors and Suppliers, Corporate Engineering.
Estimated 5 - 10 % domestic travel with limited overnight stay

This position will work predominately in a machine shop. This position will require heavy lifting and standing for extended periods of time. Area requires attention to detail and surroundings to ensure safety of employee.
This position may be asked at times to assist with issues associated to day-to-day issues on the manufacturing floor.
Use of proper safety equipment is required; including, but not limited to safety glasses and safety shoes.
This position is predominately first shift; however, this position requires flexibility in work schedule; including, but not limited to multiple shift work and/or overtime based on needs of the business.

Demonstrated proficiency in a machinist trade including: CNC Vertical, CNC Lathe, Milling machines, Grinders, Drill Presses, and various hand tools.
Demonstrated proficiency in the usage of Autocad and Autocad rending to CNC programming language.
Cross functional communication skills are imperative in this role.
Self starter, self managed and good organizational skills/time management skills.
