candidate w

ill manage a group of information security specialist responsible for ensuring the technical and functional security of a fully integrated network system for the United States Navy.

The Lead will leverage his or her leadership capabilities and knowledge of DIACAP and NETWARCOM guidelines and processes to ensure effective utilization of an information security team responsible for a myriad of information security initiatives including certification and accreditation, development and testing of document cryptographic products, trusted networks, database management systems, and telecommunications subsystems.

They will

perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments. Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits. Assist in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6-3), make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities. Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards. Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports. Document the results of Certification and Accreditation activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M. periodically conduct a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.

The candidate will be required to

design, oversee development and test, and documents cryptographic products, trusted networks, database management systems and telecommunications subsystems.

Tasks may include policy development, asset and risk assay, development of security specifications/architecture/plans, development and/or installation of digital signature systems, support for key and certificate management implementation/support of trusted computing bases, systems Certification & Accreditation support and hands-on development and operation of pilot or prototype information security applications.

This position is contingent upon task award, funding and/or customer approval.


Basic Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or other related field with 9 years of experience working within at least three of the following INFOSEC fields: Computer Security, Cryptography, Physical/facility, network security, certification/accreditation, risk analysis, and disaster recovery planning and execution. 4 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Secret security clearance required; may start with an interim Secret security clearance.
  • CISSP required
  • Over four years of experience as an Information Security Specialist with a demonstrated understanding of DIACAP and NETWARCOM guidelines and processes
  • Ability and demonstrated experience to research, write, review, and make recommendations regarding information security policies, certifications and accreditation reviews, security test and evaluation reports, trusting computing base architectures, and security engineering practices and processes.
