Opportunity for a COBOL Developer to enhance their skills in an enterprise environment, while enjoying the benefits and autonomy that a career as a Ferguson consultant has to offer.
Implement all portions of systems through systems analysis, design, programming, testing, documenting and training.
Provide maintenance and support for existing production programs.
Create technical designs and code of system to support business functions as documented in the project requirements.
Program design, coding, unit testing and implementation of most complex aspects of a system. Also, integration testing on large systems.
Responsible for production system support.
Understand critical business needs and prioritize
Communicate analysis results and make recommendation to management The qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or equivalent
2-5 years’ experience: COBOL, C/C++, XML. Java, Visual Basic, SQL, Tandem, IBM Mainframe
Strong Oral/Written communication skills
Technical writing skills
Proven ability to estimate work
Strong verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills and the ability to take an innovative approach to business problems.
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, sharing knowledge and expertise as it relates to the role.
Have a strong understanding of industry standards and upcoming technology
Understand programming logic and be able to create, view and debug application programs The technical:
