We are currently seeking a Collection Specialist to work with our Pest@Rest business venture. This position will work out of our Cook Street, Brooklyn location and report to the Director of Pest@Rest .
Locate and monitor overdue accounts, using computers and a variety of automated systems.
Record information about financial status of customers and status of collection efforts.
Locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, e-mail, telephone, or personal visits in order to solicit payment.
Confer with customers by telephone, e-mail or in person to determine reasons for overdue accounts and to review the terms of sales, service, or credit contracts.
Advise customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment.
Persuade customers to pay amounts due on services rendered.
Sort and file correspondence, and perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as answering correspondence and writing reports.
Report various administrative functions for assigned accounts, such as address changes and purging the records of deceased customers.
Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers' financial situations.
Notify service department to stop service, and turn over account records to collection agency when customers fail to respond to collection attempts.
Report payments and amounts paid to customer accounts.
Maintain and submit weekly collection reports
Report directly to the Director on all collection issues.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of clerical experience
Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol.
Professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to type 50 wpm.
