1. Evaluates and analyzes pertinent financial and credit data to validate the risk and decisioning (strengths/ weaknesses- outcome) of credit requests. 2. Validates approval conditions and requirements were satisfied. 3. Analyzing recommendations to affirm requests transferring credit relationships to ARMS, advising downgrades/upgrades, and changing accrual status 4. Ensures effective communication between Relationship Managers, Underwriting, Loan Administration, Loan Documentation & Funding Control and other departments involved in the loan process and act as a point of contact as needed. 5. Performs targeted reviews as directed: analyzing and identifying current loans with alerts to anticipate potential problem loans as well as past due loans, non-performing loans to anticipate any further deterioration of a credit. 6. Inquires and monitors to assure: Past due loans are managed properly, addressed in a timely manner, and have action plans with specific due dates. Loans rated as special mention are managed properly, have action plans with specific due dates, and if necessary are transferred to ARMS in a timely manner. ? All loans are transferred to ARMS on a timely basis. ? Loan Review action plans are implemented and executed on a timely basis. ? Follow implementation of finding by an internal/external regulator; i.e. BBVA Audit, BBVA Compass Audit, are implemented and executed on a timely basis. 7. Participates in applicable Credit Monitoring Meetings. 8. Maintains awareness of changing economic conditions, new trends and developments in the local and national markets. 9. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by Regional Manager Commercial Portfolio Review.
Qualifications
General Qualifications :
All candidates should have knowledge of lending and banking laws and regulations as well as products and processes. Strong risk-related analytical and issue resolution skills are a must. Previous experience with data management, analytical tools such as SAS, and the ability to transform data into concise actionable conclusions and recommendations are preferred. Candidates must have superior verbal, written, and organizational skills. Individuals must be able to prioritize tasks demonstrating both management skills and ability to achieve communicated deadlines. High integrity and respect for confidentiality are invaluable. Excellent computer skills in Windows, understanding of business and personal financial statements, good phone and communication skills required.
Required Qualifications : Commercial Portfolio Review I:
Bachelor’s degree in business related field business with emphasis in management, accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Candidates must have 9 hours in Accounting and Finance as well as a minimum of 18 months of previous underwriting, credit analysis, or loan review experience.
Commercial Portfolio Review II:
Bachelor’s degree in business related field business with emphasis in management, accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Candidates must have 3 plus years of previous underwriting, credit analysis, or loan review experience.
Commercial Portfolio Review III:
Bachelor’s degree in business related field business with emphasis in management, accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Candidates must have 5 plus years of previous underwriting, credit analysis, or loan review experience.
Note: In addition to amount of previous experience, candidates will also be distinguished by their ability and capacity to analyze more complex credit relationships versus simplistic ones across multiple industries and specialties.
