Function: Seeks, develops, writes and publishes news stories, videos, and other forms of communication for company-wide distribution. Keeps managers and employees up-to-date about Compass and its lines of business, key products and initiatives, successes, strategies, employee benefits, and employment brand. Strengthens employees’ awareness of the employment brand attributes that make Compass an excellent employer.
Participates in department planning meetings to develop communication strategies and plans.
Investigates, sources, and determines messages to be communicated. Writes stories, scripts, features, memoranda, etc.
Performs layout/design of newsletters, fliers, and other communications.
Works to develop and distribute special, non-routine communications, such as videos, and addresses complex or especially sensitive topics for company-wide communication.
Serves as advisor for various Intranet and Internet site design and functionality, including special Intranet applications, Internet order sites, and CompassHR.com.
6. Maintains Employee Handbooks (bank and agency).
Provides guidance to the Communications Specialist, including suggested wording or structural improvements, setting and communicating department communications standards, proofing work, etc.
B.A. or B.S. degree in communications-related field with strong emphasis on written communication.
Five or more years experience in writing and publishing internal publications.
Two or more years experience in writing and directing the studios production of company videos.
Demonstrated ability to develop high-profile, complex communications materials and ability to coordinate production of those materials.
Demonstrated PC skills with experience in MS Word and PageMaker.
Demonstrated skills in publication formatting and design.
Prior experience in developing an internal company brand and/or employment brand.
