Reports to the 4-H Senior Program Coordinator. Position is located at RCE Office of Passaic County. Teaches research-based, experiential educational activities and lessons that help youth develop life skills through the three Mission Mandate areas - Science, Citizenship, and Healthy Living. Supports volunteers and assists program staff in the delivery of educational outreach. Teaches youth, adult volunteers, and other agency personnel, according to specific program qualifications and guidelines, using pre-approved lessons and/or curricula in the three Mission Mandate areas. Completes reports and assigned paperwork in a timely fashion. Maximizes collaboration among 4-H volunteers, cooperating agency staff, schools, and related organizations. The successful candidate must maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality at all times.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to effectively communicate. Requires the ability to carry demonstration supplies, presentation equipment, and class materials. Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work with a diverse limited resource audience. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Prefer experience in youth development, education, or volunteer management. Competent computer, oral and written communication skills required. Prefer valid driver's license and willingness to use personal vehicle to travel to various worksites throughout the county; experience in youth development, education, or volunteer management.
