*** UNCE is recruiting for a part-time Community Based Instructor 2 position for its Laughlin Office. This position will assist the Extension Educator in the development and implementation of programs for southern Clark County, coordinate volunteers, facilitate community garden and master gardener programs, and will be responsible for some general office management duties as well as other duties as assigned.
*** This 60% FTE position works 24 hours per week, the work schedule will generally be 8am - 4pm, but may be variable which is determined by the needs of the program. Individuals applying for this position must have at least one year of experience teaching a community program. NOTICE: Per Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are currently subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days (part -time prorated) per fiscal year effective July 1, 2011. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Experience
This position is physically located in Laughlin, NV.
This position requires 2 years of experience working in a community development program, one of which must be teaching/instructing traditional or non-traditional 4-H program.
Applicants must have a valid driver's license at the time of application and as a condition of continued employment.
