This position, via quality services, will provide timely and accurate technology support services through effective network monitoring, effective system monitoring, effective computing equipment operations, effective enterprise printing, and quality first level customer support to walk up and telephone inquiries.
Basic working knowledge of microcomputer workstation operation, principles, desktop functions in a centralized client/server environment. Basic working knowledge of microcomputer workstation operation, principles, desktop functions in a centralized Unix server environment. Some working knowledge of network monitoring in a data communications hardware and communications environment. Basic working knowledge of computing equipment and peripherals to include laser printing systems and tape backup systems. Demonstrated ability to write, think and communicate logically and effectively in order to explain computer related situations, resolutions, and issues to staff and customers. Ability to interact effectively with computer customers and staff. Ability to multi-task.
Previous work experience and training with computing environment currently utilized by the University is preferred. Previous experience in similar hardware, software and functional environment is preferred. Preferred experience would include use of optical scanning equipment. Preferred experience would include the use of control of Enterprise Backup systems. Preferred experience would include the use and control of High Speed Laser Printing Systems. Preferred experience would include some technical training in applicable computer operations, network monitoring, or data networking. Preferred experience would include the use of formal network monitoring/monitoring software tools.
40 hour work week ; Thursday - Monday; 4PM to midnight
