As a Contact Representative you will:
Provide technical assistance to individuals and/or businesses primarily through telephone interaction in a dynamic call center environment, and/or face-to-face contact;
Address wide range of issues/problems that require unique solutions;
Apply the tax code to assist taxpayers in understanding and meeting their tax responsibilities;
Secure, analyze and protect sensitive personal and financial information;
Make determinations and use sound judgment to resolve taxpayer disputes and delinquency issues; And
Develop, analyze and evaluate information involving the research of computerized records by accessing multiple online/database systems.
You must meet one or more of the following basic requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: The following are examples of specialized experience that may be qualifying. Please note that these are just examples and this list is not all inclusive: Applying laws, rules or regulations and written guidelines; Communicating orally in order to provide information, assistance, or instructions to members of the general public or their representatives; Negotiating with others to resolve issues; Performing administrative and technical procedures using a computer to locate and review records and reconcile discrepancies; Writing correspondence in response.
GS-06 Level: 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal Service.To qualify for this position,you must have one year of specialized\experience. Specialized experience is characterized by the scope and level of difficulty of the duties performed and must be equivalent to the next lower grade level of the position and grade that you are applying for in the Federal Government. Experience in customer service working with tax records, reports, documents, financial accounts or similar records involving the use of source documents according to established rules and procedures and requiring accuracy with numerical transactions, or interrelating many factual details, or other similar work related to customer service type positions involved in researching/adjusting customer accounts. Experience conducting routine personal or telephone interviews; providing assistance to customers in response to simple inquiries; preparing written correspondence in reply to personal telephone, and/or written inquiries; and performing administrative and clerical processes using a computer.
