DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Contract Administrator will follow up with management on contract compliance issues. Maintain current and accurate records on leasehold information; conducts inventories and ensures compliance with agreements. Performs detailed review of pay estimates, invoices and contracts to confirm the prevailing wage rates, minority participation, expense reports and other items of contractual agreement. Interpret contract documents and assists in the resolution of disputed issues. Work with finance group and other City departments to resolve problems regarding agreements. Work with operational personnel to ensure compliance with agreements. Coordinate with other City departments on issues related to processing contract documents. Research contract issues and prepares information relating to contracts, agreements and practices; drafts correspondence to various individuals relating to established agreements. Prepare bids, processes specifications, tests and progress reports, and other exhibits that may be required.
Performing these duties will involve: the ability to visually observe and differentiate details and colors; be able to lift up to twenty (20) pounds; sit, stand or walk for extended periods; attend to details amid distractions; analyze abstract information; adjust to interruptions and changes; work at a computer terminal for extended periods; operate city vehicles; exposure to hot and cold weather conditions and airport noise; and deal with people in tense situations. Requires the ability to get people to cooperate; work as a member of a team; and solve arithmetic and numerical problems. Must be willing and able to work all shifts, including rotations, weekends and holidays. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Government or closely related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years of contract compliance experience are required.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas driver's license and compliance with city's policy on driving (AP 2-2).
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
Preference will also be given to applicants familiar with the City's construction contract requirements as they relate to knowledge of complex and detailed technical contract language, City requirements and policies & procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with a diversity of personnel. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office word processing and Excel spreadsheet and other software that the Department uses.

Salary Range - Pay Grade 22
$1,422.00- $2,193.00 Biweekly $36,972.00 - $57,018.00 Annually
