Interface is searching for Cool Blue II Engineer in LaGrange, GA.

The Cool Blue II Engineer is a highly visible global Project/Process Engineering position at Interface and is integral to the successful design, installation, and start up of the next generation of Cool Blue Technology (carpet tile recycling). The successful candidate will apply engineering principles in design and problem resolution through root cause analysis, design and develop Cool Blue manufacturing technology and supporting processes, and will maintain documentation ensuring accuracy and maintenance of engineering data. Additional job duties will be discussed in an interview. Travel is estimated at 10% and does include international.


Candidates must have:
  • BS or higher in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Textile Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • Demonstratedcommunication skills, verbal and written
  • Coursework demonstrating knowledge of Thermodynamics, Chemical reaction kinetics, Process Control Systems, Chemical Phase and reaction equilibria, and mass and energy transport are highly desirable
  • Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills (Ability to work through problem resolution by gathering information, examining root causes and contributing factors)
  • Demonstrated Time Management skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills
  • Intermediate Computer Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the following:
    • Project budgeting/estimating
    • Equipment layout design
    • Knowledge of processes and chemistry used in carpet tile manufacturing
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools/process improvement skills
  • Project documentation:
    • Process/mechanical/electrical drawings
    • ESOP operating procedures
    • Safety procedures
    • Preventative maintenance procedures
    • Process and Instrumentation Diagrams:
      • A3’s
      • Values Stream Maps
  • Experience and strong understanding of AutoCAD/Autodesk Inventor, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point
  • Strong analytical, project management and engineering skills
  • Experience managing capital projects with a total investment value between $10-25MM
  • Knowledge and skills to utilize Interface’s engineering systems/tools and to adhere to engineering standards and procedures
  • Cross functional/cross cultural experience to deliver clear communication across different time zones and cultures to coordinate all technical trials and activities
