About Caterpillar Power Generation Systems (CPGS):
CPGS is a business unit within Caterpillar, Inc. that specializes in the engineering, construction, operations and maintenance of large reciprocating engine power plants internationally. It's business is expanding rapidly, and is therefore specifically seeking well qualified project professionals with proven leadership in the execution of EPC contracts.
Provides project team leadership from contract execution to commissioning of engineering, procurement & construction contracts with end-users internationally. Is responsible for the projects financial & technical performance, customer management, contracts & claims management, construction subcontractors performance, quality assurance and identifying & mitigating a significant level of financial risk.
May lead one to two concurrent projects, with each comprised of ten to thirty part-time to full-time internal team members and project professionals that do not directly report to the position, as well as multiple independent subcontractors working on the job-site or outside of Caterpillar facilities. Requires extensive travel to the project site(s), subcontractor(s) offices, supplier facilities and other company offices.
Bachelors degree in a related technical or professional field. 12+ years heavy industrial progressive project engineering and/or project management experience with no less than 8 years proven successful highly complex industrial project management experience, preferably turnkey. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the principles relating to the design, construction management, commissioning and operation of power generation or other heavy industrial plants, as well as demonstrated command of commercial and contractual industry best practices needed to direct multiple disciplines on a wide-range of activities to accomplish contractual requirements and other project objectives. Must also possess a working knowledge of international best practices in construction management, general contracting, project controls, subcontracting strategy, procurement & materials management, and risk mitigation.
PMP Certification, Licensed Professional Engineer, MBA, field Construction Management experience, ability to negotiate business matters fluently in English language. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic or German languages.
