DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs janitorial services including floor mopping, polishing, stripping and waxing; rug vacuuming and shampooing; furniture dusting and polishing; window washing; furniture unloading and moving. Empties trash and sets out for collection. Orders cleaning supplies and maintains cleaning equipment. Cleans restrooms and performs other related maintenance/janitorial services as requested.
The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Very fundamental levels of the ability to read, write and follow simple oral instructions as might normally be acquired through up to 8 years of formal schooling.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No experience is required.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2).
Applicants with previous custodial experience are preferred.

$824 - $900 Biweekly
$21,424 - $23,400 Annually
