This is a Per Diem position.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Cafeteria Aide under the supervision of the Cafeteria Supervisor performs/supervises services in a designated area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care.
A. Preps and arranges deli bar, fruit bar and grill for daily service .
B. Notifies cooks of low quantities of food before shortage occurs.
C. Cleans stations thoroughly before leaving area for other assignments.
D. Follows sanitary procedures before handling utensils or food items.
E. Checks organization and stock of all supplies, including condiments, plastic and paper ware, throughout service.
F. Cash Register Transactions:
o Exhibits self-confidence when handling cash register transactions.
o Accurately programs cash register.
o Adheres to proper procedure for collecting meal tickets and processing refunds and over-rings.
G. Completes weekend cleaning list.
H. Follows through with action when a customer makes a special request or asks questions.
I. Accurately sets up and delivers functions in a timely manner.
J. Cooperatively adapts to changes, especially crisis situations, such as shorthanded staff, mechanical failures, disasters, etc.
