Qualified applicants must type a minimum of 30 wpm, have excellent computer skills and a minimum of 1-2 years of Call Center experience. Must be able to handle heavy call volume. Ability to work overnights, with some day shifts, required. Bilingual preferred.
Responsible for obtaining informaion from the caller and assisting or dispatching the medical transport request in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Handle incoming telephone calls and radio traffic promptly and professionally.
B. Obtain accurate information from the caller and input in the AS400 Computer to schedule and dispatch appropriate ambulances or wheelchair vans according to priority.
C. Have knowledge of all resources available in the area and utilize units for on time performance and productivity.
D. Acquire and maintain skills in calming techniques and learn to guide anxious, undirected callers.
E. Provide the responding units with essential information organize
F. Provide the caller with appropriate information regarding estimated time of arrival.
Flexibility in hours is important, especially availability on weekends and evenings as well as weekdays. Hours vary.
Qualification Requirements :

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Emergency medical technician training and certification preferred. Experience in emergency medical services strongly preferred.
Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification preferred.
Experience in data entry and general operating knowledge of Microsoft Windows preferred.
Experience in communications, leadership, and public relations preferred.
Must exemplify the highest performance standards, initiative, excellent communication skills, and positive, professional attitude and appearance.
Language Skills :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
