The Camp Counselor & Playground Instructor is a Program Instructor I position. This position assists in the development and organization of the summer programs that promote enjoyment, health and safety of all participants. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
Assists with program facilitation plans and group activities in camp setting.
Organizes and facilitates outdoor activities (i.e., camping, canoeing, sailing, fishing).
Oversees all activities and ensures a safe, friendly, and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants.
While these areas are the primary focus of the position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees may be called upon to perform a variety of duties in their roles with the City.
Position Requirements
Education: Must be at least 16 years of age; CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Work Experience: Previous experience working with children required; experience developing and implementing programs and activities preferred; experience in budgeting, promotion, and marketing preferred.

Pre-employment Process
The City of Eden Prairie conducts professional reference and criminal history checks for all employees joining the organization. In addition, the following is required for this specific position: drivers check (must have valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record). All final candidates must successfully complete and pass the pre-employment process before their first day of employment.
