Campaign Solutions Software Developer
dunnhumby is looking for a highly talented Software Developer to join our team building very cool database solutions using really, really big data for the next evolution in personalized shopping that will unquestionably change the way shoppers buy stuff!
This specific role will help build and maintain the software and processes that use massive amounts of transactional data to deliver the personalized shopping experience dunnhumby has become known for.
The Campaign Solutions team develops software to manipulate our client data, providing Comms & Media (C&M) analysts the data needed to create targeted communications that are relevant to our clients’ customers and whose results are the envy of the industry. The team also creates and manages the software for loading databases which provide redemption and evaluation reports, tax reporting, and other analytics initiatives. Finally, the team manages a process team based in India and is the liaison between C&M and the three main technical areas of dunnhumby (Core Data Delivery, the Data Solutions Group, and our Technology Service Centre).
Campaign Solutions Developers are responsible for managing operational deliverables with our India Process Team as well as bridging the gap between technical solutions and the business needs. We work with the business to understand their information needs and transform those business requirements into data solutions. The Campaign Solutions Developer must understand how our business uses data and how to the improvement of data quality.
Technical liaison with DSG, Core Delivery and TSC on behalf of C&M.
Support existing campaigns initiatives, addressing any internal or external client questions, primarily using Oracle and SAS to access campaigns data. Based on business need, enhance existing processes and reports through the incorporation of new features and/or processes.
Continue to drive efficiencies by optimizing and automating the current Oracle solution.
Drive data quality by reviewing and enhancing QA standards.
Troubleshoot any issues with assigned processes/functions.
Partner with the C&M business leaders to identify areas of improvement in information quality
Analyze, design, code, and test enhancements to the solution.
Meet with internal and external clients to understand ad-hoc analyses and determine candidates for automation.
Where appropriate, introduce efficiencies to our business by automating ad-hoc analyses.
Manage the India Process Team to deliver and execute your functional areas in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding the business requirements.
Ensure your work is disciplined and that you adhere to our quality control procedures.
Provide best practices for your colleagues to leverage.
Adopt best practices into your processes.
Understand how our clients leverage our data and insights.

Essential Experience and Skills:
Minimum of a Bachelors degree – the typical successful candidate has a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering or minimum 6 plus years relevant experience
2-3 years experience with PL/SQL or 4+ years of similar and relevant work experience
Familiarity with Linux/Unix.
Possess a strong and proven track record in a variety of application development platforms. Have successfully developed and implemented a number of different client data solutions.

Desired/Preferred Experience and Skills:
Korn or bash shell scripting is preferred.

Prior experience working/developing
within a data warehouse or data mart
Familiarity with Oracle analytical functions
Experience with Microsoft Excel and programming in VBA
Experience with SAS is preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
