Primary Purpose: Serve as the primary Campus Center building receptionist.

Essential Functions:
Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

1. Serve as the first point of contact for members of the campus community.

2. Provide general campus and building information to students, staff and community members.

3. Check out equipment to students and staff, including television remotes, video games, video game controllers, and other game room equipment.

4. Monitor building activities and events to ensure safe and secure use of building.

5. Assist with bus pass sales.

6. Perform minor maintenance and clean-ups, including clean-up of minor spills if custodial staff is not available.

7. Open and close the Campus Center building daily, and Campus Center rooms for special events, including unlocking and locking doors and unlocking outdoor patio furniture for use when weather permits.

8. Assist with special projects and event set-up as directed by the Office of Student Life.

9. Provide support for campus activities and events by maintaining campus digital imaging software.

10. Update Student Life web pages, Facebook account and calendar for Student Life activities and events, as directed by supervisor.

11. Monitor bulletin board usage for appropriate content and remove dated materials.

12. Monitor and stock brochure inventory in building entrance.

13. Coordinate the campus lost and found program, includes contacting students and managing inventory.

14. Schedule and change out banners for dining room.

15. Schedule and coordinate use of the display case for art and event exhibits.

16. Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Marginal Job Functions

1. Assist other Student Services Departments with scripted phone-a-thons and other special projects, as directed by supervisor.

2. Participate in campus committees, task forces and staff trainings.

1. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language with or without the use of an interpreter.

2. Must be able to represent the College in a positive, professional manner.

3. Ability to interact with a diverse set of individuals and groups representing a variety of backgrounds.

4. Must be able to plan and work successfully with minimal supervision.

5. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at one time.

6. Must be able to use computer, internet, e-mail, phones, Microsoft Office software, web editing software, and familiarity with web based blog’s and social networking.

7. Must have a flexible schedule, as hours may vary slightly each week and/or require weekend day or evening work to assist with special projects.

8. Ability to competently advise and/or serve students from a variety of backgrounds, respecting cultural and socio-economic differences.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. A minimum of two years of customer service experience, greeting the public, and representing the employer.
