The American Enterprise Institute seeks a Campus Programs Associate, to support the Manager of Campus Programs execute on a strategic plan to noticeably impact the debates over free markets, limited government, and national security on major college campuses across the country. With your help, we will revolutionize campus outreach on behalf of a Washington-based public policy institution. You will assist in building out networks of highly-motivated student leaders and give them a template for action. You will help us to develop a network of faculty mentors and participants who have been hungering for an intellectual home outside the politically-correct bubbles of their home institutions. You will provide support as we bring students and faculty to AEI for boot camps, policy discussions, and training, so that they return to their campuses energized for the fights ahead. You will help us to market a number of multimedia products—giving college students the tools they need to persuade their friends. You will help to coordinate and support on-campus events that are designed to provoke debate and expose students to policy ideas that work. It is a longstanding AEI motto that “the competition of ideas is fundamental to a free society.” With your help, we will make the competition of ideas a reality on dozens, and eventually hundreds of college campuses. Your work at AEI will advance the cause of freedom and free enterprise and serve to promote human flourishing in America and throughout the world.

The ideal candidate will bring energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and a fierce commitment to results. Expectations will be high, as will be the sense of accomplishment when we begin to achieve those results. You will play a key role in what will become the gold standard in on-campus programs and will be expected to take initiative and offer up ideas for improvement.

Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment is a must. Bachelor’s degree and one or two years of experience are preferred. Familiarity and experience working with student programs and the academic community is preferred (ideally, you bring a resume with strong involvement in your own on-campus community). Some travel should be expected.
