High School/GED
  • Management and accreditation (ACOS and NAPBC) experience preferred. Education and Experience Must have a certification in tumor Registry. Completion of High school education or GED equivalence. Knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ICD-O coding helpful. Two years experience in cancer registry is preferred, but will accept six months experience in medical records or in cancer treatment related facility. Environmental / Working Conditions Hours of duty are primarily but not limited to 8:00 - 5:00, Monday through Friday. Works in a well-lighted, heated and ventilated building. Risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens is low. Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position requires close interaction with the medical staff to facilitate the arrangement and accomplishment of cancer related committees and activities. Job Description Performs advanced technical duties by collecting and abstracting data of patients diagnosed with cancer. Follows all analytical, living patients for quality of life and recurrence of disease. Assists with preparation for Multidisciplinary Oncology Conferences and compiles minutes. Physical Capabilities Light lifting, frequent walking and sitting. Hearing acuity and clear speech patterns are necessary, as frequent communication is involved. Visual acuity is necessary for data entry typing and reading. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of automated data collection systems, data entry, word processing, pleasant speaking voice (bi-lingual preferred). 40%
