Real Estate Capital Transactions Analyst

Position Overview:
The Analyst is responsible for supporting the Capital Transactions Team, specifically in the area of property workout and refinancing. The Analyst’s duties are varied and include:

  • Analyzing under performing properties and developing projections for alternative workout scenarios
  • Assist in property refinancings, including site and market analysis, financial modeling for property valuations and loan sizing, legal document review, and preparation of internal investment committee presentations
  • Interface with our general partners, asset managers, property managers, lenders, investment brokers, accountants, tax experts, and attorneys
  • Assemble information regarding market data, occupancy data, expense analysis, rent/sales comparables to assess risk and successes
  • Generate and maintain monthly and quarterly reports from asset database for internal use
  • Assist in the analysis and documentation for ownership transfers
  • Assist in the preparation of Investment Memorandums for Senior Management
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Finance 2+ years of real estate or related financial experience Strong analytical skills Proficiency in financial analysis and spreadsheet modeling MS Excel proficient

Understanding of partnership agreements and financial statements Low Income Housing (Section 42) Tax Credit experience Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based, transaction-oriented (i.e. fast-paced) environment—pitching in wherever needed to achieve Team objectives Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to balance multiple projects and communicate effectively with senior management Demonstrate ability to think critically and creative problem-solving Attention to detail
