This position supports reservoir modeling Research and Development focused on improving subsurface reservoir characterization and reservoir performance prediction.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Works with sedimentary geologists, petrophysicists, geophysicists and reservoir engineers to improve the predictive value of reservoir modeling tools and workflow, and to improve the predictive capability of reservoir models.
Builds reservoir models to analyze and assess the significance of model parameter uncertainty on predicted flow performance.
Supports the development of rules based modeling methods, and develops bridges between geostatistical and process based reservoir modeling workflows.
Contributes to the development of integrated static - dynamic reservoir modeling workflows.
Deploys Reservoir Modeling tools, workflows, and best practices to Chevron Business Units.
Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, Reservoir Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 4 years industry experience in subsurface reservoir modeling.
Demonstrated proficiency as a reservoir modeler with solid foundation in geostatistical methods, and facility with modern geocellular modeling tools and methods.
Fluency with Gocad modeling tools and workflows.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stratigraphers, petrophysicicists and reservoir engineers across static and dynamic modeling workflows.
Strong data investigation and analysis skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute within multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across technical functions.
Self-motivation with a high level of initiative.
PhD degree in Geology, Earth Science, Reservoir Engineering or related discipline.
Subject matter expert in sedimentary geology and carbonate stratigraphy.
Fluency in Petrel workflows.
Effective trainer and mentor in field of expertise and technology domain.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters. *LI-JT1
