Perform vascular diagnostic studies with a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.Perform cardiovascular diagnostic studies which include: vascular, cardiac, and neurological procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology acquired through completion of an Associate Degree in Sciences or equivalent work experience. RDMS certification is preferred. Perform routine, non-invasive diagnostic testing in the area of cardiac ultrasound and Doppler services. Record anatomical and physiological data associated with the cardiac system by non-invasive ultrasonography and duplex process. Make all echocardiology results available for interpretation by performing associated computation and report results to appropriate physicians.Routinely consult with interpreting physicians regarding technical performance and interpretation of the studies. Perform routine and emergency EKG¿s as ordered and screen the tracing for gross abnormalities and will report serious abnormalities to physicians immediately if needed. Apply and process holter monitors as ordered by physicians. Assist physicians in performing stress test procedures and perform all associated paperwork. Is responsible for communicating the need for all supplies and equipment associated with the lab to the appropriate supervisor. Is willing to cross-train within the department to develop competency in performing non-invasive vascular studies.
Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology acquired through completion of an Associate Degree in Sciences or equivalent work experience. RVT Certification is preferred with at least one year's experience in an accredited vascular lab. Active pursuit of RDMS qualification is desired. Must possess the technical aptitude normally acquired in up to three (3) months experience on the job to carry out these studies using sophisticated equipment. Must possess analytical skills to adapt test results to the particular clinical circumstances of each patient. Must maintain interpersonal skills necessary to speak with patients and physicians.
