The primary responsibility of this position is to generate qualified leads that will be converted to members. Successful candidates generate leads and resulting sales from a variety of diverse sources for a defined territory. Territory management includes strategic networking to key business channel (e.g. pharmacies, local government, faith based, referral channels, etc.) organizations.

The role of the Business Development Specialist also includes implementing top-down Business Development initiatives (e.g. Rite Aid camps, CareMore Community Clinic events, etc.). Business Development Specialists are responsible for the planning, execution and tracking of results from all community events including closely working with Sales to staff events, generate compliant lead cards, entering those leads into SalesForce and conversion of those leads to a sales representative.

Business Development Specialists goals are based on lead goals (performance metric) and contributed sales goals (basis of performance metric and compensation model). In addition to goal achievement, Business Development Specialist performance is measured based on:

  • Adhering to the highest level of compliance expectations
  • Meet expected use of the customer relationship management system (SalesForce)
  • Manage to budgeted cost per lead and cost per sale targets
  • Adhere to all sales operations processes
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with Sales partners
  • Generate qualified leads that convert into members.
  • Achieve monthly individual lead and sales production quota
  • Represent CareMore at community/employer/company-sponsored events to promote the company, raise awareness and generate leads and resulting sales
  • Utilize SalesForce to enter leads and convert leads to sales representatives
  • Track lead book of business and sales conversions
  • Know all elements of product portfolio and associated eligibility guidelines for various election periods.
  • Know provider network (physician, hospital and pharmacy).
  • Maintain good working knowledge of competitor productscommunity marketing initiatives in the territory
  • Be familiar with current CMS Medicare Marketing Guidelines and maintain compliance.
  • Successfully complete annual product training, AHIP certification and additional training and/or certification that may be required.
Job Qualifications

Experience: Ideal candidate will have knowledge of assigned county/community with established relationships with senior-oriented organizations and the ability to deepen these and develop additional relationships and partnerships preferred.

Experience in public speaking preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.

Language skills: Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.

Computer Skills: Must be proficient in use of the internet, web-based applications and Microsoft Office suite of products

Transportation: Successful candidates must have a reliable means of transportation.

A minimum of 2 years direct sales or marketing experience; knowledge of Medicare and MediCal guidelines is a plus.
