The Career Development Coach (CDC) is responsible for developing students' and graduates' job search skills and life skills through classroom presentations, workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, phone calls and participation in career development courses. The CDC will work with the DCS and other departments to continually assess students' progress throughout the entirety of the program. The CDC will also be responsible for contacting past graduates to determine their employment status and assist them with employment. The CDC will participate in various school events including, but not limited to, departmental meetings, orientations, advisory committee meetings, graduation ceremonies, job fairs, department meetings and student appreciation.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in business/HR related field, or minimum 2-years comparable work experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Solid ability to prioritize and multi-task. Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrable creativity. The successful candidate must possess both the ability and the willingness to work independently and act on her/his independent judgment. The candidate should be technically proficient in computer research and database management; demonstrate an understanding for building relationships, networking and community-based business development; always focus on customer-centered and student-centered satisfaction.
EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Daily phone and emails, alumni, personal contact with students and graduates, personal contact with student's and graduate's families, and community events participation.
INTERNAL CONTACTS: Active student body, Student Services, Home Office, Financial Aid, Education and Admissions Dept.
DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop job search skills and life skills. Assist students, graduates and alumni in job search preparation and strategies.
Solid communication skills (both verbal & written)
6 months sales related experience
2-year degree in Business or other comparable area
Knowledge of and Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within policies and practices
Substantial creativity, with good problem-solving skills
Ability and willingness to work independently and use independent judgment
Significant experience using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook)
