Reports to the manager, career development. Responsible for determining student qualifications for placement, assessing, and coordinating transitional services, conduct placement activities, follow-up transition programs in compliance with government and management directives.
Determine the readiness of students for promotion from career preparation to career development; assist students to develop remediation plans as needed to ensure center requirements are met.
Monitor the employability development of assigned caseload throughout the career development period.
With assistance from the CTT instructors, conduct adequate job development, and develop and maintain linkages to ensure work-based learning and placement opportunities are consistently available to students and ensure enrollment center goals are achieved.
Work closely with counselors, CTT, and academic instructors to ensure students are scheduled into transition readiness classes in accordance with established timelines; coordinate the transition readiness classes.
Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
Work closely with the counselors, academic and CTT instructors to ensure transition panels are scheduled in accordance with established timelines; coordinate the delivery of services required prior to the scheduled separation date.
Assist students to develop and implement job search plans; identify potential jobs, schools, military or other training program placement opportunities for separating students.
Verify and document all direct center placements and other OMS standards according to requirements.
Conduct follow-up with separated students in accordance with established timelines.
Participate in the CMT panels process; enter case notes and update student progress with the attainment of CTT goals utilizing the CIS system.
Maintain student files and portfolios in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assist in process of evaluating center services for students; participate in the development of the career development and career transition plans. Maintain plans in CIS system.
Maintain cooperative relationships with field career transition specialists to effectively coordinate services to separated students throughout the pos-enrollment service period.
Participate in the operation of the career resources center and ensure materials and resources related to careers and independent living are consistently available, current, and relevant.
Conduct groups, workshops, and other programs as needed to ensure students are adequately prepared for the placement and separation process and support success with the initial placement of students.
Support CDSS by implementing and participating in activities and program as described in the center's CDSS plan or as assigned.
Identify barriers during CPP promotion and monitor throughout CDP & CTP and maintain plans in CIS system.
Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
Participate in student employability programs and activities.
Support and promote center zero tolerance policies.
Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
Maintain accountability of students and property, adhere to safety practices.
Bachelor's degree in behavior science or 4 years experience working with youth. One year experience in sales, marketing, or job placement services. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
