Provides career advising to students and alumni related to determining career choice, career exploration, career planning and connection to all ASU students, including those with special needs, handicaps or other restrictions; builds and maintains relationships with employers to determine talent needs and subsequently refer candidates, schedule interviews information sessions and engage in various recruiting events on campus; manages employer data and provides follow-up and regular, ongoing engagement; provides event planning, marketing and implementation of small and large scale recruiting and student development programming events such as job fairs, workshops, employer panels, job shadow program, and on-campus interviews; provides information, advising and programming related to continuing education/graduate or professional school; develops, plans and presents various special projects and career planning and job search programming such as classes, workshops, seminars and career fairs; manages and trains student staff in Peer Advising, marketing, and customer service responsibilities; keeps abreast of employment trends related to student career goals, communicates the information to applicable parties, and uses it to plan and implement services; recommends or initiates techniques and procedures in the formulation of policies, purposes and goals of the department; serves as liaison with faculty and other advisors seeking career information or collaboration in programming needs; keeps abreast of student career goals and provides input and planning into appropriate services and programming; provides departmental reports as required.

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Extended hours may be needed to support ASU Spirit, Pride and Tradition.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in Counseling, Behavioral Science, Student Development in Higher Ed, or related degree with an emphasis on career development advising, theory and practice AND one year college, state, or community career center, human resources, college relations or student advisement experience OR, Certified as Global Career Development Facilitator AND five years college, state, or community career center, human resources, college relations or student advisement experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Qualifications

Experience in: working in higher education environment; working independently and in large group settings; building successful employer or client long-term relationships; event planning; working with diverse populations. Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skillls.
