CAREER TRANSITION SPECIALIST (Wichita)
Coordinate transition services for students exiting out of the Job Corps program in the Wichita and surrounding areas. Assist with placement of graduates in employment or secondary educational programs.
Develop and maintain contact with all students on assigned caseload; create relationships with employers and with agencies that may assist with student transition needs. Assist with and participate in workforce and/or industry related meetings, or in any event related to employment opportunities.
Maintain an environment conducive to learning and developing work related skills. Assist in transporting students to work sites, interviews, career fairs. As assigned, develop and identify potential work based learning sites; facilitate and evaluate student assignments and progress.
Participate in career development and assessment panels on center. Provide positive, quality customer services to students and employers. Participate in student employability programs and activities. Support and promote center zero tolerance policies.
Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

Bachelor's degree or four years experience working with youth required. One year experience in sales, marketing, or counseling services. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency also required. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
