Summary of Responsibilities:
Leads Firm in-house case design consulting and associated functions in order to positively impact business plans and objectives. The position drives productivity by providing accessible and quality one-on-one case development advice and support for Financial Sales Representatives (FSRs). The Case Design Consultant leverages available software and data to perform case analysis, and designs and models customized and comprehensive solutions for Clients. The incumbent also prepares FSRs for Client meetings and attends these meetings with FSRs as requested. The position may also function as the point of contact for the Firm with corporate partners and as a conduit to the Firm for providing resources, technology and training related to case design.

Principal Responsibilities:
Serves as a strategic advisor to the Market Leader/Managing Director and management team regarding case design strategies which drive the Firm’s productivity and business plan goals.
Responsible for overall quality of advice and consultation to Firm FSRs regarding customized and comprehensive financial solutions for Clients and prospects.
Holds regular strategy meetings with FSRs to ensure ongoing communication.
Performs or oversees case analysis tasks; examines data, reviews and interprets financial statements and leverages available software to enter Client data, explore options and make recommendations.
Ensures FSRs are adequately prepared for Client presentations, i.e. – provides visual aids and illustrations. Attends Client meetings in partnership with FSRs on an as needed basis.
Builds and grows a platform for case design in the Firm; develops and implements best practices and continually communicates and markets case design services throughout the Firm.
Provides regular updates to management regarding case design usage and activity, leverages metrics to illustrate the impact of the Case Design Unit on Firm productivity.
Develops and maintains local Case Design Tools and technology.
Main point of contact with MetLife corporate partners on case design issues (i.e. Financial Planning and Case Design Unit, Advanced Markets). Responsible for determining which corporate resources, technology and partners to leverage for the Firm.
In partnership with others, may also determine training and information relevant to case design to be channeled to the Firm (i.e. training on technology utilization, products).
Continually seeks to expand and enhance personal knowledge of case development (i.e. - through participation in Company and industry education opportunities). This enables the Case Design Manager to proactively meet the case design needs of the Firm with new and innovative solutions.
May supervise and/or oversee one or more staff members who have responsibility for lower level responsibilities related to Case Design (i.e. Paraplanner).

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:
Strong working knowledge of products/services available in the insurance and investment industries.
Well versed on the technical and sales aspects of case design software and ability to use this software (i.e. Profiles).
Ability to simplify complex issues and present them in a compelling and persuasive manner.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem solving, leadership and coaching skills.
Knowledge of industry trends and field management best practices.
Satisfactory Compliance History.
Proficiency in compliance guidelines related to case design and financial planning.
Strong Client service orientation.

Job Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in the insurance or financial services industry, with
case design development, advanced markets and financial planning experience. (A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sales Advisor is strongly preferred).
Licenses required to sell MetLife enterprise products.
Professional Designations (CFP a strong plus, or may be required depending on Firm needs).
Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferably in Business, Finance or a related field.

Dimensions :
The position is generally responsible for managing the Firm’s case design consulting activities to drive overall productivity and business plan goals. The position may, depending on Firm needs, manage or oversee individuals responsible for lower level case design functions.
