THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY AND WILL END AUGUST 29, 2014. Summary: Provides case management, needs assessment, legal advocacy, and victim assistance to adult and children identified by CPS as eligible for care through the Disproportionality Program.

Major Responsibilities:
· Obtains relevant social history, performs needs, risk and safety assessment for CPS/domestic violence cases within mandated investigation guidelines set buy CPS. Prepares service plan, assists in completion of personalized safety plan.
· Accompanies CPS worker to the home or school of individuals identified abuse/DV victims requiring CPS investigation.
· Co-locates with CPS at the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.
· Accompanies CPS worker to the home or school of individuals identified abuse/DV victims requiring CPS investigation.
· Collects appropriate pre/post data to submit to United Way, CPS and SHTC as necessary for reporting pilot project progress.
· Provides case management and legal information to clients, offering referral and advocacy as needed.
· Networks with other service providers and justice officials to facilitate client services and community response.
· Provides current information on community resources to other staff and CPS cohorts.
· Maintains up to date resource list with current information on employment, housing, legal options, counseling, parenting and other services.
· Documents case management activity and other client contacts in client files in a timely manner.
· Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of working clients.
· May conduct client groups as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Social Work or related field, or a minimum 4 years equivalent related experience required. Demonstrated proficiency of skills in crisis intervention, case management, social work theory and ethics required. Experience in and knowledge of family violence issues required. Must have a current Texas driver’s license and possess automobile liability insurance. Ability to work flexible hours as assigned including regular evening hours is required. Must be bilingual in English/Spanish with the ability to read, write, speak and interpret both languages.
