TITLE OF ROLE: Case Study Coordinator (Grade 6)

SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Sr. Manager, Knowledge Offerings
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The Case Study Coordinator is responsible for the development of ASQ “Case Studies” that are offered to ASQ members and customers. These responsibilities include identifying and recruiting potential organizations that would be good candidates to submit case studies, providing guidance to subject matter experts to prepare case studies, writing and editing case studies, and working with creative services to finalize case studies. Also provides editorial and administrative support to all Knowledge Offerings products.
Must possess excellent writing, research, and content development skills for print and electronic publications. Must be able to prioritize multiple concurrent projects, adhere to deadlines, have demonstrated work ethic and excellent organizational and communication skills. Understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus, and teamwork and partnering skills. Demonstrated capacity for embracing change and learning new technologies in fast paced environment. Proficiency with Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook required. Familiarity with content management systems and SharePoint strongly desired.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, marketing or related field required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of writing experience with a magazine or newspaper in both print and online formats required. Experience should include a variety of editorial areas, including writing, editing, interviewing, reporting and proofreading.
LIST OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Writes, edits and proof reads case studies for publication in the Knowledge Center and other distribution channels.
2.Recruits authors and companies that are candidates to share their quality success stories in the format of case studies.
3.Seeks input from membership, sales, Team Excellence, Baldrige Contract and other internal workgroups to recruit case studies from ASQ customers, team competition finalists, and state and national performance excellence award participants.
4.Submits editorially completed case studies to Creative Services for final layout in a timely manner and then posts to CMS and Knowledge Center.
5.Seeks customer feedback, conducts competitive benchmarking, applies fuindings in implementing continuous improvements to case study recruitment and development processes and publication formats.
6.Coordinates with communications, marketing, and IT worgroups to raise the visibility, online presence and usability of case studies.
7.Assists KO staff with various editorial assignments including newsletter and webcast editing and support of new book launches as needed.
8. Provides administrative support to KO workgroup staff, including coordination of standards membership renewals.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
1.Internal—Frequent contact with Knowledge Offerings Workgroup, especially Publisher and Knowledge Center Editor. Also, Customer Care, Web Offerings, Creative Services. Moderate contact with Editorial Management, Membership and Marketing Services.
2.External—Frequent contact with authors, contributing editors, member leaders/volunteers and other organizations regarding contributed articles and internally developed articles.
1.Planning and scheduling. Implements short and long-term Knowledge Offerings development plans. Plans and implements own schedule on a regular basis. Contributes to formulation of case studies, Knowledge Center and other KO products.
2.Budgeting and forecasting. No direct responsibility but provides input to Senior Manager, Knowledge Offerings.
3.Responsibility for establishing objectives, policies or standards. Is responsible for providing input to workgroup, Knowledge Center and other content objectives and goals, and implementing and modifying new and existing policies and procedures.
4.Impact of decisions. Has authority to make decisions regarding case studies, has some authority in deciding on newsletter content and in managing personal schedule to ensure all projects are completed on deadline.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives frequent communication and direction from the Publisher/Senior Mgr., Knowledge Offerings.
