The Category Manager plays a pivotal role as the expert
in developing the Constellation Brands business within
the retail chain. This individual will support the
company’s category management efforts through fact-based
sales presentations, internal data reporting, and space
management solutions. The Category Manager will also
work closely with the Retailer in providing ad hoc
analysis as it pertains to brand performance, sales
opportunities and market trends. This person will be
proactive in developing materials that will help grow
our business as well further develop the category as a

  • Assist in planning and implementation of Channel
Management Plan for Account
  • Support Buyer with analytical insights as well
communicating and consulting with Category
Management Team
  • Communication of all programs, opportunities,
presentation recaps with appropriate Constellation
Brands’ zone field organizations and distributor
  • Work with customer team to manage all current and/or
new SKUs
  • Creation and Implementation of schematics as allowed
by merchant team
  • Facilitate all New Item Files and maintenance
  • Manage Item presentation process.
  • Manage monthly ad plan with the retailer.
  • Manage locations: Travel with Merchant team to
engage in:
  • Grand Openings
  • Remodels
  • Resets
  • Events
  • Surveys
  • Coordinate throughout Constellation Brands selling
  • Pricing
  • Distribution / Allocation
  • Sales Trends
  • Promotional activity
Job Requirements:
  • Education/Experience – Bachelors degree with a focus
on Marketing/Business, highly preferred.
  • 5 years of category management experience
  • Experience in managing 3 tier system and/or industry
experience a plus
  • Proven analytical skills and solid knowledge of key
category management concepts.
  • Technical – Strong PC proficiency, including
expertise in Excel skills/pivot table creation and
manipulation, Powerpoint, Word, and Access.
  • Ability to put together compelling, easy to
understand, visually appealing presentations
  • Familiarity with the basic tools of Category
Management: Nielsen/IRI, Space Management tools,
Market Metrics
  • Experience pulling and interpreting syndicated data
  • Professional - Strong ability to influence,
negotiate and build strong relationships with
clients and data support companies at all levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical abilities
