Support the CSM team in executing the vision for national, category and shopper
strategies that translate into actionable solutions to increase sales for the
category and our brands in-store.
I. Shopper Marketing Solutions & Insights
a. Assist CSM team in the development & execution of the EPC Shopper
Learning plan by line of business, incorporating both internal & external
priorities in the process
b. Assist with executing planned shopper research projects on time and in budget
c. Assist CSM team in utilizing research to cultivate unique, actionable
insights that position EPC as a thought leader in our categories
d. Work with CSM team on the development of shopper marketing solutions for the
category and our brands in top customers via the following:
Partner with brand Marketing to develop Shopper Marketing stimuli that engages
the shopper, builds brand equity and ignites incremental sales for the category
and EPC products in-store
Work in partnership with the field Category Development & Sales teams to
help the customer teams develop enhanced shopper solutions that will address
identified customers strategies, objectives and goals.
Ensure all shopper marketing programs are developed and executed in
collaboration with internal teams that integrate consumer, shopper, and customer
needs to build sustainable, profitable demand for our brands.
II. Category Management Strategy
a. Educate both EPCs internal & external teams, as well as customers on
category, consumer & shopper trends & insights
b. Aid in the development of category focused educational reference materials
i.e. category 101s, category review templates, etc.
c. Work with CSM team on the development & evolution of National
Merchandising strategy for the category.
d. Support the line of business portfolio sku prioritization by line of business
e. Develop higher level selling presentations that can be utilized by the
broader organization for customization by retailer
f. Demonstrate category expertise & thought leadership via participation in
key customer meetings
g. Partner with Category Development teams to drive enhanced category
h. Utilize category expertise and unique research and insights to penetrate
additional influencers at the customer outside of the buyer in order to develop
a more strategic partnership with retailers.
III. Syndicated Data Expertise
a. Drive the line of business CSM team to be the internal consumption experts
for the Commercial Organization as it relates to the category and EPC brands by
line of business
b. Assist the CSM team in managing the utilization of panel & spectra tools
for the line of business cross functional teams
Proactively initiate, manage, summarize & communicate pos, household panel
research as well as spectra data, to develop actionable recommendations
internally & externally.
Encourage additional cross functional utilization of panel & spectra tools.
Support CSM team in the management of line of business Nielsen relationship,
project priorities & database development/ maintenance.
IV. Position Specifications
a. Background/Experience/Education required:
2+ years experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
Experience in shopper insights, shopper marketing, category management,
syndicated data analytics are considered a plus.
4 Year College Degree Required
b. Skills and Abilities required:
Basic to Mid-level with Nielsen/IRI syndicated data usage and understanding
Knowledge and application of Category Management Best Practices
Ability to lead projects made up of cross-functional peers
Solid analytical and communications skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
V. Physical requirements:
a. Travel 15%
