      JOB SUMMARY:

      Catering Sales Manager sought for high-end/boutique resort opened in May

      2003. Located in the breathtaking mountains of Northern New Mexico, within

      walking distance of the historic Taos Plaza, this resort caters to luxury

      seeking, globe trotting clientele. The resort features 84 rooms uniquely

      decorated with hand painted murals and custom crafted furnishings, a full

      service restaurant, banquet and meeting spaces, a day spa, and a pool. A

      member of the Marriott Autograph Collection.

      Requirements of the position include:

      * Aggressively pursue new catering and wedding business.

      * Pass event information on to Event Services Manager for coordination,

      ensuring hotel customers with a high level of service and quality.

      * Perform research and development of potential catering markets.

      * Attends various civic organization functions as a representative of the hotel.

      Average % of Time:

      85% Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through

      telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, written

      communication, and attendance at community/social networking events and

      industry meetings.

      10% Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and

      customers.

      5% Participate in pre-convention meetings, training and other catering sales

      related meetings as required; prepare correspondence to customers, internal

      booking reports and file maintenance.

      Experience I Education I Certifications:

      1. Bachelor's degree - preferred

      2. Hospitality or related industry experience - required

      3. Previous event planning experience - required

      4. Valid Driver's License - required

      5. Knowledgeable of Top-Accounts for the Hotel-preferred
