Bachelors degree in business, hotel/restaurant management or a related field, and/or appropriate combination of education and experience to support on the job effectiveness. 4 years of catering/event planning experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/management role. Prior experience in a high profile venue Must possess strong general knowledge of food and beverage operations procedures, controls, and administration as well as awareness and ability to perform all catering-related positions. Solid and proven track record for sales and leadership success. Tech savvy, with high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks. Keen ability to promote and participate in a team environment. Flexibility and availability to work extended or irregular hours to include nights, weekends and holidays. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires occasional lifting of up 20 pounds in weight (boxes).

Centerplate is the food and beverage services partner for The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, TX. We currently seek an experienced, talented and dynamic Catering Sales Manager with a dedicated work ethic to organize and execute contracted events.
The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center offers more than 1,500,000 square feet of convention and event space and includes a 9,816-seat arena, a theater with a 1,750-person capacity and 96 meeting rooms.
The Catering Sales Manager will be directly responsible for communicating with KBHCC clients to include Show Managers, Exhibitors and Affiliate groups from initial booking of the event through completion of Food and Beverage Services. Working closely with the Catering Sales Team, they will be responsible for ensuring that all client specifications are communicated to the operations and culinary team to ensure successful events.
Communicate with KBHCC clients after initial booking to coordinate all food and beverage needs, promote Centerplate brand standards and up sell when appropriate Prepares contracts to include all specified details concerning catered events to include Banquet Event Orders Disseminate information to all concerned department heads and distribute detailed Banquet Event Orders Responsible for collecting pre-payments and final balances Work closely with KBHCC Event Team to ensure client needs are met consistently Be visible during food and beverage functions to ensure client satisfaction Conform to the regulations of the alcohol beverage authority Follow up with clients post event to ensure satisfaction Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required
