Develop, negotiate, qualify and book new and repeat business through solicitationof outside sales calls, telemarketing, referrals and networking to maximize meeting space and meet/exceed established revenue and Sales goals.
Personally provide banquet menus and wedding package information using suggestive selling techniques and creative ideas to enhance the overall event image.
Accurately complete the sales contract covering each step of the sales process through finalization and "close the sale".
Plan, up-sell, and detail events using the Delphi Sales and Catering system. Prepare accurate Banquet Event Orders for client signature and internal distribution; secure attendance count guarantees and deposit payments; and follow-up with customer post-event review.
Maintain proper tracing procedures and notes in the Delphi System.
Pro-actively identify operational challenges with customer and work with hotel staff and customer to solvechallenges and/or develop alternative solution.
Present weekly review and report of all tentative and prospective bookings.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company and hotel procedures, products and competition, including their strengths and weaknesses, to continually improve sales strategies and achieve goals.
Build a strong client business relationship and pro-actively resolve issues to ensure quality product delivery and superior customer satisfaction.
Entertain clients on and off-site for meals and other functions before and after normal business office hours, including week-ends.
Attends scheduled department and hotel meetings, seminars, and employee events.
Carry out related duties as assigned including rotation in week-end office coverage,Manager-on-Duty program, Lobby Ambassador and holiday assignments.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load to meet all deadlines.
Ability to actively listen to, understand and clarify concerns raised by guests and employees
Effectively communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of guests and employees in an attentive, friendly and courteous manner.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Local travel required. Own vehicle required for sales calls.
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Fiveplus years of Hotel Sales and/or SeniorManagement experience.
