We are currently seeking a Central Office Technician II who will be responsible for maintaining a highly reliable network of systems including the Central Office switch, carrier and transmission devices and all other auxiliary equipment.

Specific accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain digital switches in the Central Office environment

Install new service and exceed customer expectations

Perform circuit trouble diagnosis and corrections with little to no supervision

Read, interpret and correct wiring and circuit layout records

Interact with other departments to resolve customer issues

Requirements:
Advanced skills and understanding of test equipment used in turn up and fault isolation

Advanced knowledge of basic electricity and electronics

Good oral and written communication skills

24/7 availability when performing on-call duties

Proficient computer knowledge in a Windows environment

Well versed in digital switching, carrier principles and transport hierarchy (DS0-OCXXX)

Must be physically able to work in confined spaces, kneel, squat and stand for extended periods of time in order to perform wiring and installation duties

Experienced and proficient with the Lucent 5ESS, Nortel DMS, LCS and DEX-600 platforms, Titan 5500, Alcatel 1631, ADTRAN 4303and 532L systems

Associates degree in telecommunications or equivalent work experience

6+ years experience working in a Central Office or Field Technician role
